Unseasonable weather

Recommended Posts

Isn't it a little late in the year for Desert tortoises to be out? I saw one sitting on a rock (the rock I wanted to sit on to glass) this morning. I sat down next to him and asked him what he thought he was doing outside, but he didn't answer me. Anybody got any ideas?

I hope he crawls back into his burrow soon, there is a Winter Storm Watch on for Tucson today....

Yes! Next time wait a bit before talking and try to get to know the turtle better. You might try offering it a snack, too. Then use a very calm voice, and maybe the turtle will feel better about having a conversation.

Hope that helps. ;) -TONY

I have only found one of those tortoises in all my years, but they are neat creatures.

Some years ago during a November hunt I was clawing my way up the side of a bluffy mountainside in unit 27 and came

face to face with a large king snake which scared the crap out of me at close range, I am suprised I didn't tumble back down the mountain, sure glad it was not a rattler, it was probably only 60 degrees out.
