Unit 10 Late Bull Question

Recommended Posts

Hey folks, I am looking at a couple different areas on the Big Bo. I have already purchased my ranch permit since this is the area I am most familiar with. As a non resident I have been on this late hunt 3 different times over the last 15 years. We have been successful on each hunt, with one bull over 370. None of these hunts have really been in the same area. We have done our scouting a week prior to locate some bulls. This leads me into my question. I am wondering about a few areas a bit farther up north. I know some guys don't like to see areas called out on a public forum so if anyone who is familiar with 10 would like to P.M I would appreciate it. As of now I feel we have a pretty good game plan with where we plan on camping and hunting. As a matter of fact right now we even have a plan B. Just kind of curious about a couple areas farther north. I know the unit is hard to get around in and once camp is made its tough to relocate. It can be done and we will if need be. I just don't really want to waste a couple days scouting if the areas up north are not to productive.

Unfortunately there isn't a hard fast answer to any spot on the late hunt in 10. "hot spots" change from year to year. If you find a bull you like but there are no other elk around for miles it's still a great spot right!? Scout scout scout is all I can say about any hunt in 10 and I have tons of experience in the unit. Good luck on the hunt!

Totally depends on weather fps a lot of elk movement, but even the antelope flats and PJs hold a few bulls year round.
