Outdoor Writer Report post Posted November 27, 2007 If anyone kills a decent sized buck (body-wise) that's not going to get it mounted, I could use the cape. Why? Because I originally opted NOT to get the Mex. Coues I killed mounted, but now I've changed my mind. Obviously, I would prefer one that was properly caped with minimal damage and taken care of, i.e. FROZEN as soon as possible in contrast to having it lie around for a few days or salted. -TONY
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted November 27, 2007 If you had posted a few days ago, you could have had mine, but I already gave it to a friend. Sorry! I still have a couple in my freezer my mexico, but haven't decided what I am going to do with them. If I decide to give them away, I will keep you in mind! I had decided not to mount that Mexico deer because about 5" of one main beam had busted off. But Marc Plunkett looked at it a while back and said he could fix it up where no one would notice the repair. -TONY Thanks. -TONY

Outdoor Writer Report post Posted December 3, 2007 Dear Mr. Ruble, Not quite. The buck is the one pictured on the back of How To Hunt Coues Deer (see below). Spread was 16.5." Not a monster but respectable enough for the wall. I had actually saved the frozen cape for a long time. Then a guy from Texas on another hunting site was looking for a cape. So I shipped him that one because I figured I wouldn't mount mine. -TONY
