azhuntnut Report post Posted November 27, 2007 Well my new scope finally arrived after waiting for quite a while. It is the new Nikon Monarch 5-20x44 Matte BDC. They enlarged the ocular side of the scope this year giving you more four inches of eye relief and more magnification. They also moved the parallax focus adjustment to the side of the scope for quicker adjustment. It also has the BDC reticle inside for long range shooting. Now I just need to find a new gun to mount it on. I can't decide what caliber to buy. I want to get something that is lightweight and can shoot out to 500 yards with no problem with little recoil. I am considering the .243wssm. David http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/product.ph...mp;product=8424

David You will have to do a post when you get that thing on your rifle, I am interested in the set up you are after too. I was looking more at the 270wsm and the 300wsm but am considering the lighter cartridges as well. Do you like that nikon better than the leupold's or was there a cost issue? azhuntnut Report post Posted November 28, 2007 Matt, I really like the Nikon products. Do a comparison between the two, plus look at the warranty offered by Nikon. I sent back a pair of binos a while back with some scratches on the lenses. They sent me a new pair. David
