Jazz Report post Posted September 26, 2017 Was running low on water, so I did what 99.9999% of do out in the New River Area. I called the truck. The well pump was acting up and I didn't have time to mess with it. (Turns out my static water level is about 92ft- not bad. I'll putz with the pump when I get time) Truck shows up and a me if I had heard about the Phoenix water changes.. Nope! Tells me to google it.. and I do: http://www.azfamily.com/story/36406634/new-river-desert-hills-look-to-water-utility-to-solve-supply-problem In short, Phoenix won't let the trucks fill up anymore. So they would have to go to Peoria or Scottsdale to fill up. A lot farther- and they're talking about 2-3x more than what a truckload of water costs now. It's about $75 now for a fill up. That adds up quick. I hope we find a solution as a community. Kicks in Jan. 1 2018. Either way, I don't like relying on this method. .. going to get a trailer, with my own water tank on it and figure out how to do it myself. Does anyone know if there's a place where you can pay maybe a monthly fee and haul water yourself?
singleshot Report post Posted September 27, 2017 I feel your pain. I live in Safford but hauled water to a home for 18 years. The well water was horrible, dog wouldn't drink it, so I had no other option. The day civilization finally encroached and I was able to tie into the municipality was a dream. I even hauled water for renters for 9 years of that. 550 gallons at a time, fortunately the round trip was only a few miles. Fortunately for me I was able to buy cheap and turned quite a profit when I dumped that place. Still have not decided wether it was worth it.
