olmos1010 Report post Posted September 18, 2017 This is my first elk hunt (my tag) and I was wondering if the pressure from the rifle and muzzleloader hunt going on right now will make a big difference in the quality of the hunt. I'm super pumped and I know I have an awesome time either way I'm just looking to hear a little feedback on what you guys think.
Flatlander Report post Posted September 18, 2017 You should have a fun hunt with lots of bugling. A couple of downsides are 1) Close to 90 good bulls from the unit will be dead before you start. 2) Moon phase is brighter than most of the other archery hunts.
JBenz63 Report post Posted September 18, 2017 Just from being out there this weekend, I seen more people scouting for the second archery season than the first. Still, you get off the trail and you will run into some bulls. It felt like the bugling was a bit weak but that's not been the norm. I have noticed Flatlander is much more educated on that unit. Seen some great bulls out there this year so hope the best.
