MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted September 10, 2017 Couple of recent new items for me thought I would give some thoughts on them. 1) Kuiu tiberon pants Love these so far, I spent about 7 days in these on two trips this year. First was backpack hike in, I left the side vents open the whole trip, I added suspenders as well. Did some bushwacking and night hiking and they did everything well. One suggestion would be zipp off legs for the hike in part, overall I would recommend them, they held up to brush and manzanitas and a few wait a minute bushes. Love the stretch fabrics and drying ability, I got rained on several afternoons and just crawled into my bag and was dry in an hour or so. I went a size up since I run suspenders and liked the fit being on the loose side. Second trip was horse pack in, even better on this trip since it was minus the backpack hike. Rode a few miles in them and no signs of wear. These are my first high end camo pants and they are worth the price for sure. 2) green belly meals Loved these totally, very balanced nutrition in resell able light weight package. I even reused one package for oatmeal breakfast to save weight on my bowl. I ordered some more and will use them to replace all other meal bars. My daily meal was one bar (2 bars per pack 650 calories) for morning and one for midday, I had a bagel butthole sandwich for lunch and mtn house propack for dinner. Several of the days it was raining so I ate a bar for dinner in the tent and had mtn house for lunch. These are on the pricey side but I only use them on occasion at home or work and for hunts and I felt they were worth every penny. 3) grinds coffee pouches These are chew pouches made with coffee instead of Tobacco , I have turned 3 guys on to these and all 3 quit chewing with them. I now keep them around to give up coffee. I also tried not bringing any coffee this year and just stuck one pouch in my lip after breakfast. Makes the morning real quick and I'm hunting rather than cooking water. Carmel is really good flavor.
Cell4soul Report post Posted September 10, 2017 Been wanting to try those Grinds Coffee Pouches. I even bought 5 can last year, but haven't brought myself to try them yet.....I just can't seem to give up on my Skoal.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted September 11, 2017 I bought a pair of the Kuiu Tiburon pants used from a member here. I love mine too. I wish they came in more solid color options like the attack pants. I have worn mine from dove hunting to scouting trips so far. Super comfortable and cool with the open "mesh" fabric, yet tough. Viper Report post Posted September 11, 2017 "One suggestion would be zipp off legs" I like zip-offs. The only ones I can find heavy enough to withstand the brush and sorta protect the legs are Red Head from Bass Pro....but they're cotton. I usually leave them unzipped half way around to dump heat. Kuiu should consider this. I would like to try the Tiburons, I have the Attacks and they are a little warm when it's 80 degrees +.
azslim Report post Posted September 11, 2017 I've got the Alpine's, love the venting, much better than the double faced Carhartt's I usually wear. I also picked up the gaitors, good for going through mean bushes and add some warmth on cold days.
