wbyfireman Report post Posted November 21, 2007 I was drawn for a tag in unit 33 for the late hunt starting in december. It will be my first coues deer hunt I have ever been on. I usually hunt mule deer, but this seems to be a great challenge as well as alot of fun. There will be 4 of us going down to hopefully glass up something that we feel is worth a tag that is very hard to get (from what I understand). We will be hunting on the border of the sajuaro national forest to hopefull glass up some large deer that have escaped the hunting pressure of the two previous deer seasons. Any tips, advice, or encouragement will be very appreciated!!!!!! Wish me luck and stay safe
cjw2222 Report post Posted November 21, 2007 advice: try hunting on the border of the Saguaro National Forest but in all seriousness i think what most will tell you is scout now for terrain and once you have some great vantage point, GLASS. glass, glass until you don't think you can anymore. for these little guys can blend in with dang near anything and only the most persistent hunters are fortunate enough to spot em. If you don't have good optics, or any for that matter, i would strongly suggest looking into a pair of 12x or 15x binos. as far as which one, go as high up the list as your $ allows. Past that just make sure to have a great hunt!
