Millhouse Report post Posted September 1, 2017 Thanks for the help everyone....sounds like it's going to be bad either way, but I am leaning towards avoiding Payson.
Hoss50 Report post Posted September 1, 2017 It took me 7hrs to get to payson one year. I left Friday at 430pm from peoria and we got to payson at 1130pm. It took less time to get from payson to durango colorado that night than from peoria to payson. I got to watch the sun come up over new Mexico that morning... Hoss50 Report post Posted September 1, 2017 The ADOT twitter page is actually a really good road conditions resource to help you make a decision which way to go.
AZ Wildcat Report post Posted September 1, 2017 Is the beeline still down to one lane for roadwork a little south of the 188? I believe it is but I'm not sure. If it is I would DEFINITELY be taking the Salt River Canyon route (which I love anyway). It could add another hour or more to the drive if it is one lane there. Workman Report post Posted September 1, 2017 I'd go through Globe if you're leaving this afternoon, payson will be a nightmare. If it was me I'd leave at 4 tomorrow morning to avoid the madness all together
