Huge shot out to Eric at AxisworksAZ for building my 300 Win Mag

Recommended Posts

About 4 years ago I wanted to get into long range hunting. I made a post on here for some help and Eric shot me a PM. This guy took several calls, texts, and more of his time just to help me out. I picked up a 300 Win Mag Remington 700 5R Rifling edition to start with. He gave me all of his opinions on the budget that I had and it was not much. Its taking me 3 years to build this rifle to where it is now. Eric also taught me how to reload out of his garage. Now he has his own shop and he is nothing but a class dude.

2 weeks ago I took my rifle back in to get a new scope mounted. (Vortex PST Gen II 5-25x50 Bought from Sean on here) and also wanted to get my barrel and bolt fluted. Looks cool and also need to shed some weight. I can not be happier.

This rifle is batting 1000 right now on Coues deer. Between my kids and I its 8 for 8 between 500-800 yds.

Thx Eric and guys give him a call. His work is amazing. And yes he is a sponsor on here.

Eric is a great guy and does some beautiful work. I pretty much do all of my own gunsmithing but there are some things a just can't do myself. I took him a bolt to spiral flute and while I was there he took the time to show me the builds he was working on. When he realized I was hobby machinist he took some more time to show me some of the aerospace projects the big machines were running at the time. It was a very fun trip to the gunsmith.

That gun looks Awesome! He is definitely a great gun smith and a great guy! He has busted his butt the past 2 years to get his new business going. It's nice to see more people discovering how great his guns are!

I just bought a heavy Palmer Kreiger barrel and want to spiral flute it just for looks. The HP is a 2 -1/2 pounds more than a sendor barrel. How much weight did it shave off?

Gun looks sweet though

He fluted my 6.5 SS barrel and bolt too. His machine work is second to none. I am anxiously awaiting shooting my .280AI he built for me next weekend. Which is a masterpiece in it's own right.

Addicted and Lance, I just got a serious case of vertigo looking at that spiraling! You may have just convinced me to spend that extra money when I have my .25-06 converted to a .280AI for my son in a year or two, especially if my gunsmith up here can have it spiral fluted. Wicked cool! Wicked, wicked cool!!!

On the Lilja website there is a free barrel weight calculator under the "computer software" heading.
