Savage Axis 2 7mm-08 review

Picked this up from BPS for ~$400.

 

Developed a few different loads (altering seating depth) at 41gr of H4895, with 120gr Nosler BT Hunters. Goal is to use the gun on my upcoming son's doe hunt in Kaibab.

 

First impressions, nice action, nice accutrigger (i adjusted to min ~2.5 lbs). Stock is cheap, barrel is lite. I like hte lighter overall package, but the barrel warms up after a few shots which makes load development kind of a hassle.

 

Results speak for themselves. i think i found a winning load....
