treestandman1 Report post Posted October 7, 2004 From what I have heard, Bears in AZ do not do a fullblown hibernation like in colder states. When they do hibernate here, it is usually on very steep and thick slopes uaually under thick trees or overhangs. On warm winter days they will move around a little. This is just what I have heard. ALYUAZ Report post Posted October 10, 2004 I was hunting at about 6000 Ft elev. and the bears were feeding heavily on acorns. In several days of scouting I did not see any bears in the pears but at mid elevation I saw lots of scat full of juniper berries.
