Cell4soul Report post Posted August 6, 2017 I have a 2017 Tacoma. I went with a Softopper so that I still have easy access to use the full bed, if needed I just fold it down. Stays dry in there. Stuff in the back isn't as protected from theft as a hard shell, but if someone wants to steal your stuff, they are gonna steal your stuff. I never thought I'd like the Softopper, but now that I have it, I am glad I went with it.

Cell4soul Report post Posted August 6, 2017 I can't even hear it inside the cab. I bought mine with a flap located where my rear sliding window is on my truck so I can access the bed through the rear window of the truck. I also got both the mesh and regular rear window. The quality is far better than I expected. If the OP or anyone else is interested in checking it out, I'd be happy to show it.

Red Sparky Report post Posted August 6, 2017 The one I have is the best. My dad sold me his S-10 when he bought his Ranger and took the shell off to put o the Ranger. My dad called me up several weeks later and said "The people around the corner moved out, there is a camper shell that should fit the S-10 I sold you, it says free". I was there in 30 minutes and putting it on my truck.
stanley Report post Posted August 6, 2017 I bought an ARE from camperland for my tacoma. Has been solid Thanks a bunch for all of the opinions, guys. Exactly what I was looking for! I got on the phone with a guy named Doug, from Camperland yesterday afternoon. Really nice guy! Took the time over the phone to walk me through lots of pros-cons for the various models & manufacturers they carry (Leer, Snug, and ARE). Seems that all three brands are pretty comparable, and it might just kind of come down to personal opinion. Looks like a couple of votes for ARE here. Cell4soul, I had never considered that type of cover. Interesting, and cool that you are liking it at this point. Thanks again, everyone! S.
