wbyfireman Report post Posted August 13, 2017 Just my opinion but I would get the panhead and get another tripod. The outdoorsman tripods are good but you can get as good for less money. The panhead is almost unbeatable for size, weight and functionality. If you save on the tripod then buy new panhead. Good luck Any recommendations for a tripod for equal quality and weight??!! Thx !! WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted August 13, 2017 At one time I had an outdoorsmans, Large bogen, swarovski, vortex, and 2 promaster xC325 I used the 325 90% of the time..I'm sure there are others but for just a bit over $200, it is hard to beat. The 525 is a bit bigger and costs a bit more.

wbyfireman Report post Posted August 17, 2017 +1 on the promaster Xc325. I Was looking into the Manfrotto 290 xtra carbon. Looks pretty similar in design and in weight. Both have really good overall reviews. Need to get my hands on both
