John O Report post Posted July 31, 2017 In my experience, best all around for that general bullet weight are IMR7828SSC and H4831SC

lancetkenyon Report post Posted August 1, 2017 Assuming 7 Rem Mag? Are you looking for speed? Accuracy? Temp stability? Powder availability? Price?
MathewQuigly Report post Posted August 1, 2017 Oops it's a 7mm Mag guess you need that little bit of info. Looking for All the above if that is possible lol
lancetkenyon Report post Posted August 1, 2017 Try some H1000, RL23, or RL26.
10Turkeys Report post Posted August 1, 2017 I've used IMR 4831, VV N-165, and IMR 4350.
Hoss50 Report post Posted August 1, 2017 What Lance said. I am using g H1000 and RL22 in mine. RL 23 is a more temperature stable version of RL22. I here good things about Retumbo too for 7rm. Once you find your powder though I would say make sure to stock up a little. Powder is pretty easy to find right now, but that isn't always the case.
STOMP442 Report post Posted August 1, 2017 I have always had good results with H4831 or H1000 / Retumbo. One of those three powders about a grain off of max charge will generally run pretty darn well with the 160 class bullets.
MathewQuigly Report post Posted August 1, 2017 That's all good info, thankyou
azsugarbear Report post Posted August 6, 2017 H1000. You cannot underestimate the value of having a temp stable powder for your ammo in AZ where temps can swing 40-50 degrees in a single day on an elk hunt.
