pstrman Report post Posted July 30, 2017 This will be my son and my first deer hunt! Drawn in 6A. He's 27 but just starting to hunt. I'm very excited to spend time with him.. Only hunted this areas a couple times. Can anyone share me if the northern or southern part of this unit is better? Good luck to all.
Beaton Report post Posted July 30, 2017 I would hunt the southern half. Cedar flats, buckhorn mtn horse knoll, wet beaver creek area. That's where I've seen a lot of mule deer bucks
Deserttrecker Report post Posted July 30, 2017 Lots of good areas around Stoneman Lake Rd. I've run into mulies, whitetail and coues out there not to mention elk and pronghorn.
goinhuntn Report post Posted July 30, 2017 Check out areas around Clint Wells. Saw some nice bucks around there couple years ago while helping out a buddy on an archery Elk hunt.
Titanium700 Report post Posted July 30, 2017 Horse knoll you can see forever but the road to get there can be "fun"

Titanium700 Report post Posted August 13, 2017 I forgot to add that while there last year we snuck up to about 45 yds of a really nice Muley at the base of horse knoll. He didn't seem to care if we were there or not. And he was probably in the neighborhood of 145-150iah inches. This was during elk rifle season.
