Jazz Report post Posted July 26, 2017 Well, used the last of the snake shot last night on a 4ft diamondback. The .22 shot sucks btw. Took two to the head and kept grinning. The 45 put him down, unfortunately used a buffalo bore bear round on it. (Thought I had the 230 ball in the pipe) I can't seem to find any shot for a .45 online? Everyone I looked up says out of stock. Must be a shortage on them or something.. or maybe we're dealing with that many more snakes!
ctracingraptor Report post Posted July 26, 2017 Snake shot has been really hard to find for the last few years, I've read a lot of people have been just been making their own on reloads with success.
GreyFox Report post Posted July 26, 2017 It's been almost non existent sine the 22 craze. The 38 Special loads do a dang-dang on copperheads, rattlers and water moccasins in Georgia!!
lancetkenyon Report post Posted July 26, 2017 We have eliminated 6 in the last 3 days on a remote mountaintop job site. 12ga or shovel work just fine.

Red Sparky Report post Posted July 27, 2017 Just buy a Judge. Then use the smallest shot size you can find in 410.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted July 27, 2017 Shot a milk jug with a judge from 10 feet, 3 shots and got maybe 20 pellets in it. The copper disk stuff was decent.
Jazz Report post Posted July 27, 2017 The 45 stuff works great- it's just hard to locate. I'll try a few of the local shops. It's for checking the cams- one mag usually filled with the stuff and the other ball- for bobcats and whatnot.
Ringer Report post Posted July 27, 2017 I think I bought rounds for my H&K .40 from Cabelas online. That stuff does not cycle well but it kills them with one shot.
6AYoteHunter Report post Posted July 27, 2017 You could just reload some 45 lc with bird shot. Bet someone has posted a video on YouTube.
6AYoteHunter Report post Posted July 27, 2017 #8 shot works well for snakes. I know #12 is terrible on a big rattler
