lancetkenyon Report post Posted July 26, 2017 Totally depends on the shooter. I have never shot this barrel until hot. It took me 13- 14 years to get where the round count is at. And I normally shoot 2-4k rounds a year of centerfire rifle. This has always been a hunting rifle. Never a rifle I go and shoot for recreation. Load development and fire forming brass took up most of the rounds I have shot out of it. But it has taken plenty of game from prairie dogs, jackrabbit, plenty of coyotes, and several deer. I would think average barrel life for a .25-06AI would be around 1000-1300 rounds. More if you are lucky and are careful like I have been, less if you abuse it and run it hot.
