Family sues Law Enforcement

Recommended Posts

This was a few weeks back. What do you guys think? I'm not a veteran, but it looks like they're playing the veteran card real hard and if I was, it would bother me. Does this guy have any accountability to his actions? As far as the DPS officer going after him while off duty, I think that's a good thing. Imagine if all cops stepped up like him.

Saw this on the news this morning. I don't claim to know all the facts, but on the surface this lawsuit sounds like a bunch of ridiculous BS.

Dumb. The guy committed the crime, ran from the cops, and died. Sucks to be him, but he made all the wrong choices.

Lawsuits like this are one of the downfalls of this country.

looks like a lawyer trying to make a buck to me. I hope it goes to trial and they are awarded a bill for state of Az attorneys fees.

I am so tired of these idiots wasting tax money on these law suits. If he was such an upstanding citizen he would not have been in this situation.

the problem is the lawyer who took the case and convinced the grieving family this could have been avoided. In reality they should say my adult son made a bad decision and his consequences for his actions cost him his life and we miss him. I hope that if there are other people who have ptsd they will seek treatment and not end up as our son has.

I work with a guy who knew the deceased personally. We discussed this event as it was happening and immediately after, as my coworker was in contact with people.

The family, of course, is not portraying the deceased in an honest fashion. Only highlighting the positive side, not the other 50%.

Anybody in or around the law enforcement community would tell you very common and municipalities seldom put up a fight

I seen the truck as they pulled it up out of the canyon, took two semi wreckers to get it out. It sat in DPS yard in Verde for quite awhile, they just moved it a couple months ago. Pretty mangled unit. Dude made a bad decision, and paid the ultimate price.

The fact that they played the whole vet card is just sad. It hs nothing to do with what happened. Dude fd up and paid. No sympathy whatsoever. Sad that they'll settle and pay a couple million out.

It's easy to make judgement calls from afar. I know a few of my fellow Vets that due to a TBI or PTSD are now cursed by demons. He served a brief combat tour and got an honorable discharge. It's a shame he ended up doing what he did, and dying from it.

I think about things a little differently, we are all one chemical imbalance or head injury away from being in a similar situation. Just a different point of view
