Air Compressor Piping a New Garage

Recommended Posts

The shop I'm in now is 40+ years old, original air plumbing is copper and the newer/repaired parts are galvanized. During monsoons the galvanized pipe sweats, rusts, and blows metal flakes. Our drier is a two stage devilbiss made for paint booths but the compressor is old. Whatever you use make sure you install a decent drier and drain the lines and the compressor regularly.

They do make automatic drains too. Having refrigerated dryer will definitely keep the moisture down to a minimum and a good coalescing filter set up.

Do not use PVC! It is not rated for air. Exploding PVC will is not a nice thing to see.
