Washing an over sized sleeping bag

Recommended Posts

I take my sleeping bags to a dry cleaner. They have larger machines and they do a great job.

i just washed my backpacking sleeping bag this weekend. I put warm water in the bathtub and hand washed it. Then set it out in the backyard in the sun. It was dry in 90 minutes.

Big stuff like quilts I go to the local laundromat. It's usually about $4 and another $1 to use the large dryer.

Laundromat front loader XL machine. Or your bathtub. I've had to go both routes a couple of times.

The last time I used a washing machine for a dacron filled sleeping bag, the spin cycle pushed all the wet dacron to one side of the bag and made it lopsided. I take my down filled bag to the dry cleaner.
