Lance Report post Posted November 8, 2007 CRAP! Yes I think a couple of those are a Jaguarundi. Way cool! Crap I say cause I think I saw one down on our OCT hunt. I couldn't decide if it was a mountain lion or a Coati. We did see a lion in the area twice but it was always totaly easy to tell it was a huge lion. Wat I saw was built and walked like a cat, but was darker than a lion and smaller. And I could not see the long nose of the Coati. It held its tail strait out and not down like a lion and not up like a Coati. And it was not a fuzy tail like a Coati. It through me for a big loop but I finaly convenced myself it must have been a Coati..... a Coati....that looked, walked and had a flat nose like a cat I'm guessing I was not as crazy as I thought I was thanks to your jag pictures! Thanks Lance PS, yours could be a kiten defenetly does not have the arched rodent type back of the Coati! It is not as dark as the one I saw. PS again! I just googled Jaguarundi and saw lots of pictures and shure enough! That is what is saw down in the 36's in Oct! Way cool! Thanks! It was driving me crazy not knowing what I saw! Way cool! I watched if for a while too, it was walking accross an opening and then accross the tailings from an old mine. Got to watch it walk a long ways and still couldn't figure it out tell now! Huntn coues Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Those pics were taken w/ one of the crappy old original widlview cams (I think 0.2 mega pix!?!), so the clarity isn't there. If you click on the pic where I circled the head & view it full size, you can see the face through the grass. I can at least. At least I think I can.... dang it!?! Starting to confuse myself on this one. Just click on the link to the .bmp file & you'll see a face - and no this is not one of those stare in the mirror & say bloody mary 3 times kinda faces! It's either a cat face through that grass, or I'm going completely nucking futs! I can see the face Matt. It also helps if you have a few beers and then look again
mattys281 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 I can see the face Matt. It also helps if you have a few beers and then look again Ahh-hah, so either it is a cat, or I'm not the only one who is nucking futs in this room!
dogman68 Report post Posted November 9, 2007 In my experience, lions don't "move" anything other than maybe a few hundred feet until they get out of the way. Andy would know though. He watched lions stalk deer all fall. He said they would just blow and snort and move out of the way and go back to feeding
