chuckster Report post Posted June 28, 2017 I have been reading excellent things about reloader 16 as well. All the benefits of 17 but with temp stability. I found a pound in Tucson last week but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. It doesn't have to be H4350 either, Accurate 4350 is a little easier to find and is also an excellent powder choice. I was reading a thread over on long range hunting the other day with a guy claiming to get over 2800fps out of his Tikka CTR in 6.5 Creed and given the larger case capacity of the Swede case you should be able to eclipse that pretty easily I would imagine. The R16 looks pretty good. Pulled some .260 rem info off the Alliant website: Alliant Reloder® 16 260Rem Load Data Test Firearm: 24" SAAMI chamber Universal Receiver test barrel Powder Bullet Brand Weight/Type OAL (in) Primer Brass Max Charge wt (gr) Velocity (ft/sec) Notes Reloder® 16 Hornady 95gr V-Max 2.775 Fed 210 Fed 46.0 3277 0.140" Reloder® 16 Nosler 120gr Ballistic Tip 2.760 Fed 210 Fed 44.0 3022 0.180" Reloder® 16 Barnes 120gr TSX 2.720 Fed 210 Fed 43.6 2987 0.230" Reloder® 16 Berger 130gr Hybrid OTM 2.800 Fed 210 Fed 42.9 2915 0.180" Reloder® 16 Sierra 140gr GameKing 2.680 Fed 210 Fed 41.0 2764 0.160" Reloder® 16 Sierra 142gr MatchKing 2.790 Fed 210 Fed 41.7 2772 0.200" Might have to give it a try. Stomp, can you confirm what powder the guy getting +2800 fps from his CTR was using? Or point me to that thread??
STOMP442 Report post Posted June 28, 2017 I believe he was using R17 if I remember correctly. It's somewhere in this thread I think. http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f28/6-5-creedmoor-shooters-183735/
