Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted June 7, 2017 Art Dillman became my father in law back in 83! Spent many outings hunting, grilling and shooting a lot of bull! Art passed away June 1 peacefully at the age of 82! Worked til the day he died! Hard nosed as hockey sticks and give the shirt off his back for you! Art asked me 5 years ago to build a casket for him and then two years ago he scared the crap out of us so I hurried home and put a casket together for him! Dad & I have built a few very similar , made the top one piece then cut it in two pieces so just 1/3 opened up for tbe viewing , but after cutting it sometimes doesn't want to line up as well , i made my granddads w elk antler handles , & then we built one with stirrup handles . Art didn't want a viewing so I just kept the lid one piece!Building a casket for someone you care about is a pretty spiritual experience and in this case since he was still alive fun cause I got to send him pictures! The hinges on the other side are just loops of rope stapled in! My boys, Penny's husband and I dug the grave and covered it up!
