wendt Report post Posted June 1, 2017 I am looking for anyone who knows a good place to go in the Phoenix area where I can purchase and have installed a 2 1/2 inch leveling kit for my new Ford F-150. Thanks for the help and suggestions. Mike
300RUM Report post Posted June 1, 2017 The leveling kits are generally spacer blocks that go between the top of the strut and the mount. Usually secured by 3 bolts. If you can turn a ratchet and operate a jack they are usually fairly easy to install. You might want to look into installing it yourself and saving the shop bill. My guess is the installation would cost more than the parts, unless you are looking at the real fancy kits with entirely new struts.

Sometimes you may have to have a spring press for the shocks which can be a pain but guess it depends if you have the time or even want to do it yourself. If you've got the cash definitely nice to drop it off and come back when it's done.
Norteno Report post Posted June 1, 2017 Regardless if you do it yourself, you are going to need a front end alignment after it is installed.
HNTNGUY Report post Posted June 1, 2017 Mark at BDM Customs or Scott at Total Auto Pros. Both places have done work on my trucks any have never had a problem. Alignment is DEFINITELY needed after coilovers are yanked out. Mark

ctafoya Report post Posted June 1, 2017 I did my own. Bilstien 5100 strut with multiple positions. Used the stock spring. While I was in there I upgraded the junk upper control arm with one that allows you to replace the ball joint. Mine is a dodge, don't know if they make em for Ford's.
kwp Report post Posted June 1, 2017 I've done a few myself, not too difficult at all. Then just have the alignment done.
ctracingraptor Report post Posted June 1, 2017 If it's a 2015 and up, it's not a easy job. You have to remove the spring, compress the coil, remove the strut, and install the spacer, and then put it all back together, with a tremendous amount of force. It's not a easy job even with the correct tools, prior to 2015 it was a easy job.
Jazz Report post Posted June 1, 2017 I haven't done the job yet- but when the time comes I'm taking it to One Stop Truck Shop on University.
