Jazz Report post Posted May 23, 2017 I put the boys in for a Nov 12A doe hunt this year. The elk hunt takes up most of the buck hunts online in Oct. I dont remember a Nov hunt option last year? We hit it in Oct I think..

IA Born Report post Posted May 23, 2017 I'm pretty sure there was a November antlerless hunt last year. A friend of ours' son got his first deer up there during the Nov doe hunt. Three years ago when I took my daughter up for the Oct doe hunt, there was a November weekend. Two years ago, they combined them back to one Oct hunt due to lack of manpower to patrol and work check stations, and then they reopened the 2nd (Nov) hunt last year after receiving many complaints about how crowded the first weekend was the prior year. I know I was pretty vocal to many friends over at AGFD.
Jazz Report post Posted May 23, 2017 And, we're bringing jackets. I don't think I've been up there in Nov, but I'm sure snow is a possibility? That is- if we're drawn.
DesertBull Report post Posted May 23, 2017 Bring more than a jacket. Snow is not just a possibility....it's likely.

Even in late October you will get frost at night, it gets pretty cold up there. Well Jacob Lake is at 7900' and it can get bitter cold. While heavy snowfalls are rare you definitely need to keep on eye on the weather. I don't recall the year but I believe it was late 80's where a storm dumped so much snow that people couldn't get trailers and RV's out and were left there for the winter. http://www.intellicast.com/Local/History.aspx?month=11

lancetkenyon Report post Posted May 23, 2017 I have seen early rifle season temps in the negatives on occasion. I have also seen late season temps in the 60s. Snow in July, and no snow in December. Prepare for anything, you will be fine.
