bigmo101 Report post Posted May 14, 2017 I'm thinking about giving the 183 smk a try in my 7mm Rem Mag. Anyone tried them out yet? I know Sierra doesn't recommend them for hunting, but has anyone tried them out on deer or elk?
lancetkenyon Report post Posted May 14, 2017 I have a great load worked up in my ride for them. They fly fantastic. I almost had Taylor use them last year on her elk hunt. I know a guy in Montana who uses them on elk with great results.

Zeke-BE Report post Posted May 14, 2017 I hear they kill!! I saw one video on SMK that didn't perform well on a deer shot. But I've seen other videos of (real hunting bullets ) not perform well on well placed shots. I think the odds are in your favor. The last few animals I've killed were on 140 grain Accubond, bullets all passed through leaving a 1" hole on the exit. All 3 didn't go farther then 5 ft but they all bleed internally, no blood pile or much blood on the ground. Glad they didn't run a 1/4 mile or they probably be lost..
