cjl2010 Report post Posted May 13, 2017 Spotter works for me. I don't need SD cards with muzzle velocities on them. I find a load that I like and get the speed
300RUM Report post Posted May 13, 2017 Thanks to this post, i just ordered a magnetospeed....smh Welcome to the world of not having the gun 3 benches down register on your chrono. Of not losing data due to varying light conditions. Of not having to put the unit on the 25 yard line to get readings with some cartridge/powder combinations. Of not needing to take a tripod and go through all the setup just to chrono 5 rounds. Use the Gauge bar and keep the strap tight on the barrel and it should not cause you problems. In the middle of August, when the weather is real nasty, you can now go chrono some rounds at 2:00 AM if you want. A slight POI shift with the chrono attached seems a small price to pay for the advantages. You are going to zero the gun to the load without the chrono attached. Zeke-BE Report post Posted May 13, 2017 Hands down, the Magnetospeed is what I would buy if I were looking. The Ohler 35 is a good unit too. And the LabRadar is awesome, but pricey. All that being said, I use a fairly cheap Chrony unit, but I just used mine to get close, and then verify drops and true my ballistics with LR confirmation. Wait!! So in theory could you use this LabRadar and since it follows and gives the velocity at 100 yards as well, couldn't that give you a really close true velocity and when you punch in the numbers it should match up to the rest of the shooter app or true ballistic LR??? pwrguy Report post Posted May 13, 2017 I use the magnetospeed V3 quick and easy. Like Lance said get it close and then compare to what your downrange results tell you. I had to make some adjustments to the last load I was working on as the bullet seemed to be shooting flatter than I expected
