PRDATR Report post Posted May 11, 2017 I have driven the Hemi 1/2 Ton, plenty of power. I would imaging you can expect the gas mileage to be cut by 50% when towing like most all other gassers.
Tac Report post Posted May 11, 2017 All the power you can get with out being a diesel. Drive all the american makes and see what fit you best. I cannot sit in any of the 3/4 ton dodge trucks with out feeling uncomfortable in the seats. On long trips this may be a problem. There were better options for my seat. brademan76 Report post Posted May 11, 2017 Here's an idea... How about you give me half the money you're gonna spend on that behemoth, then we'll go out back, I'll kick ya in the nuts and we'll call it a day!?
GreyGhost85 Report post Posted May 11, 2017 Ive got a new 2500 diesel in the tradesman model. Love it. Really solid truck. The hemi is a good engine as well with plenty of power. I think you will like them
azcouesandelk Report post Posted May 11, 2017 My dad has a newer 2500 with the Hemi in it and it does really well. Only thing is when towing don't expect to get over 10 mpg while towing
TOBY Report post Posted May 11, 2017 I only gonna tow 6k up 6 times a year. Just can't see the extra dough for the diesel

223VARMINTER Report post Posted May 12, 2017 I have a 2014 Ram 2500 Limited with the 6.4 Hemi and 40k miles and I have had no issues since new. Plenty of power to tow my 10k pound toy hauler. Mileage sucks when towing but for the few times a year I tow the trailer up and down the mountain I don't care. I just drove to PA and back last fall and I averaged 16 MPG and it is very comfortable with the bucket seats.
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted May 12, 2017 My buddy bought one and wished he had a deisel. He pulls a trailer a lot though. My some has one and loves his but doesn't pull much. Good truck bad fuel mileage and really bad when towing
SunDevil Report post Posted May 12, 2017 I owned a dodge and had to replace the tranny twice. For that reason I got a GMC 2500 with the 6.0. No problem towing my 24' boat
