hamboneaz Report post Posted May 7, 2017 Hey guys I'm wanting to upgrade some gear and such and I have some rifles that I hardly shoot anymore. So I'm thinking about selling one. I have a mossberg patriot 30-06 and a 270. I like both rifles and I have a load set up for each that shoot well. But I also have a Remington 700 sendero 7mm rem mag, and a old Remington 788 308. Because of my other two rifles and calibers I'm thinking I should keep the 270 and part with the 30-06. Which one would you guys let go the 30-06 or the 270? Viper Report post Posted May 7, 2017 I'm a fan of the .
lancetkenyon Report post Posted May 7, 2017 I think your reasoning is spot on. Keep which one shoots best.
biglakejake Report post Posted May 7, 2017 going back to basics.....Jack made the .270 famous all by himself but considered the 30-'06 the best cartridge in existence. personally i can't think of anyone who would call themselves a rifleman and not have an 'aught-6. but i'm old school and used one for my once-in-a-lifetime pronghorn last sept. lee

lancetkenyon Report post Posted May 7, 2017 I have an 06. But it went on a diet, plus training regimen, and is now a .25-06AI.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted May 7, 2017 I'd sell both mossbergs and keep the remmy. You can build it and have many aftermarket options.
hamboneaz Report post Posted May 7, 2017 I want to keep one of them for my wife and kids to use. Not a very expensive gun but shoots well so not to worried to let others use it. My 7mm is my baby and the 308 was passed down from my grandpa. So I'm only looking to get rid of one of the mossbergs. I got the 30-06 originally because it's a good all around caliber. But now I have other calibers that have basically the same capabilities. Im thinking I will sell the 30-06 and keep the 270. Thanks for all the feedback!
