AZ8 Report post Posted April 26, 2017 After many, many years, my Merrells have finally given up the ghost. Unfortunately, they don't make this style anymore and I'm not happy with their current offerings. I've tried several other brands, but nothing I'd buy just yet. Crispi keeps popping up in my online search with great reviews. Anyone wearing Crispi boots? Are they sold anywhere locally I can check out?
PRDATR Report post Posted April 26, 2017 I think BP sells them. Call around.
cjl2010 Report post Posted April 26, 2017 No crispi's here. I do wear lowas and salewas. Are you looking for a synthetic or leather boot? Stiff?
AZ8 Report post Posted April 26, 2017 Yeah, I'll start calling around in the morning. Just thought I'd see if anyone here has seen them locally. Material doesn't matter. I do prefer a softer sole tho.
rageinthesage Report post Posted April 26, 2017 I just recently bought a pair of Crispi Valdres from Bull Basin Tucson. So far they seem like a great all around boot at a decent price. They have Kenetrek there to compare to which is a little too much boot for me.
WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted April 26, 2017 Crispi is one of the best boots available imo. Very tough to find anywhere to try them on though. They have synthetic/full leather depending On your wants and needs...

goinhuntn Report post Posted April 27, 2017 I have Cabelas Meindl Perfekt they fit nice & feel good on the feet. Little stiff at first, but they break in nice.
GreyGhost85 Report post Posted April 27, 2017 Crispi makes a fantastic boot. I've got one long season on a pair of their summit gtx's. still holding up well. Honestly probably the most comofortable boot i've ever worn
AZ8 Report post Posted May 29, 2017 Just an update. Went with the Crispi Dakota. New for 2017. With a $40 off Memorial Day coupon, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. First time I've bought boots sight unseen and without trying on. Hopefully they work out. Lots of elk scouting trips this summer, so I'll see how they perform. http://www.blackovis.com/crispi-dakota-gtx-hunting-boot

I dont mind paying for quality boots but would prefer they have the option to have new soles installed like the Kenetreks
AZ8 Report post Posted May 30, 2017 Not sure Desertbull. Something I haven't looked into.
GreyGhost85 Report post Posted May 30, 2017 My hunting boots always wear out far before the soles. How stiff are the dakotas? The summits are great boots, but don't really give me the ankle support i like. Perfect day boot, but i prefer a boot that feels about like a ski boot

These do have the ankle support system found in their higher end boots.
rossislider Report post Posted May 30, 2017 How about Lathrop and Sons boots? I've been seeing them pop up a lot lately. Anyone tried them? I believe they have a custom fitting kit they send you (for a fee which is credited towards your boot putchase), you do all the measurements, send it back, and they make them custom for your feet. I would love to hear from someone who had tried them. https://lathropandsons.com
