TAM Report post Posted September 28, 2004 I live in Mesa and spend lots of time in the Montana Mtn area north of Superior. There are generaly quite a few coues up there from Rogers Trough east to Peachville Mtn, but there are usually quite a few hunters as well. If you can go in the middle of the week you'd be better off. Also in my opinion to many tags are issued and lots of small deer get whacked before they can ever get big. If I'm hunting with a rifle I'm usually after something better than 100 inches, but in that area I'd lower my standard to 90 or better. There are also to many lions. I've gotten lots of pictures with my trail cameras over the last year and two of my buddies have recently seen a total of 3 lions. Good luck!
Bowhntg Report post Posted September 30, 2004 Hunter, If you don't mind a little hiking, take the rogers canyon trail head to the revis ranch. There is some good hunting all the way to the top...>Gotta warn you though brutha, it's up hill both ways and no matter how bad you think it looks, it's worse.. the good news is, it does tend to keep other hunters outta there....... All you have to do is want it bad enough.............

az4life Report post Posted October 3, 2004 (edited) Last year I know someone who had a game camera back in behind top of the world a mile or more and he got a few nice pics of some decent bucks. He hunted back there but never got the one he wanted. He also had pics of coati's and Bears. We Didn't draw a tag so no conflict of interest there. West on one of the roads out of pinto valley mine sort of back toward top of the world, and as others have said... no matter how bad it looks, it is worse on foot! Good Luck Edited January 1, 1970 by az4life
