I think they will need to spend a little more.

Yup! I'm in the IT field here in Phoenix, and recruiting & hiring software engineers is one of my primary roles for my company. The market is VERY tough here for attracting top talent. Amazon & Google have come to town, not to mention all of the other companies that have long been here (Discover, Schwab, Wells Fargo, my company, etc....). AZGFD will have to pay quite a lot more than what is being offered if they expect to get an experienced strong developer. Possibly the benefits associated with a 'state job' will help, but they are WAY under what the market is offering with that salary range.

Maybe explains why they sometimes have technical issues?? :D (Though I hate to cast stones at other IT guys! ;) )

Anyway, good luck to them finding someone!

S.

PS: SERIOUSLY!!! If anyone has a smart kid who is wondering what to do with themselves in college, try to steer them towards software development (especially if they have a head for math). Guaranteed future employability, IMO! ;)

Just check sheep draws and see how many peeps with few points get drawn. Yep, there is a glitch alright!

Not really if you change your perspective. multiply the people with 10 points or less +1 and then multiply the people with 11 points and greater +1 and I bet the entry totals into the draw for each group represent the percentage of each groups draw success.

Example, if 1000 people have two points, each would get 3 entries into the draw so 1000x3=3000 chances to get a low draw number. Ok, now 100 people have 20 points, so 100x21= 2100 opportunities to get a low lumber in the draw. My theory for the general draw, the draw percentages would reflect those percentages of who gets drawn.

If my babbling makes sense.

As indicated by Datantify, there are in excess of 7000 IT organizations that work inside Spain. These change in size from consultancies with 1 or 2 representatives up to organizations with a huge number of workers. They can offer help including portable applications to big business programming advancement Numerous organizations that work inside Spain won't recruit their own staff for programming improvement and different errands. They will re-appropriate the errands to specialists that can play out the expected work as and when it is required. IT nearshoring Spain is in this manner well known, particularly assuming you want a SW designer that can communicate in the neighborhood language and tongue.

They shouldn't be attempting to do anything internally. They're a wildlife agency not a tech company. They can't remotely compete payscale wise so I imagine they lose talent quickly - not to mention the lack of experience undertaking the sort of projects needed means that they waste money, and end up spending more.

Contract everything out.  You're a wildlife agency not a tech company. Successful people and businesses partner with others that compliment their weaknesses.

Sure...contract it out, and complain about talking to someone in India (who can indeed be extremely smart).  Grow organically when possible.

Do you build all the apps on your phone through your personal business team within your company?

Or do you buy a phone from people that specialize in making phones, and then buy apps that are specific to the purpose you're looking for?

Businesses fail because they don't identify what they do well and focus on it.

They manage wildlife. They don't build tech.

Find your vertical and live in it.  Millions of examples out there.  Landscapers don't build their trucks or design chainsaws, etc.
