Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted April 15, 2017 I know this has been hashed over and over but is this stuff legal according to the regs? Legal for setting out for trail cams!
bonecollector777 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 The way the law is written they can't do anything to you no matter what you put out unless you plan on hunting there. If I'm a photographer and want pictures of elk they can't tell me I can't. What you have is salt even though it is apple flavored salt the regs don't say anything to say you can't use apple flavored salt. It just says you can use salt which is what you have. So technically with what you have you could even hunt over that. If you're simply wanting pictures they can't stop you from putting out whatever you want. bonecollector777 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 R12-4-303. Unlawful Devices, Methods, and Ammunition 4. An individual shall not use edible or ingestible substances to aid in taking big game. The use of edible or ingestible substances to aid in taking big game is unlawful when: a. An individual places edible or ingestible substances for the purpose of attracting or taking big game, or b. An individual knowingly takes big game with the aid of edible or ingestible substances placed for the purpose of attracting wildlife to a specific location. 5. Subsection (A)(4) does not limit Department employees or Department agents in the performance of their official duties. 6. For the purposes of subsection (A)(4), edible or ingestible substances do not include any of the following: a. Water. b. Salt. c. Salt-based materials produced and manufactured for the livestock industry. d. Nutritional supplements produced and manufactured for the livestock industry and placed during the course of livestock or agricultural operations. That whole law falls under "taking" big game. Trail cam pics aren't taking big game. Throw some corn out if you want as long as it's just for pictures. I'm sure guys will come on and argue with me but read the law exactly as written and it clearly says unlawful when taking big game.
6AYoteHunter Report post Posted April 15, 2017 Keep that stuff out of any unit with bighorns or in areas with sheep ranchers. Too much copper. Run a quick google search on it. Also why do they add artificial flavors to everything nowdays Anyone wonder why cancer, dementia, and autism are all on the rise. We keep putting garbage in everything.
