coueshunter Report post Posted October 29, 2007 My son Travis shot his first Bull Elk this past saturday. I was so happy/excited for him. It went very smooth, we got up there friday night just before dark, located a few groups of animals and then went and set up camp in the dark. I will let him tell you the story but I am too excited to leave one part sit for too long, he shot this bull at 339 yards and killed him on the first shot. I couldnt get us any closer without spooking the whole herd, so I just set him up and didnt tell him how far the shot was. He took a couple deep breaths and squeezed the trigger and that was it. I emailed a picture to Stanley for posting and can email to anyone else who will post it for me, I am clueless on the posting of pictures. my email is environmentalfiltration@msn.com. P.S. he had a small bull tag so it was fun watching him drool over the big bull in the herd but have to shoot a spike.........thanks........Allen.......... coueshunter Report post Posted October 31, 2007 Thanks everyone for sharing in our joy. I cannot explain how great it is to have your son out in the field, enjoying the excitement of pre-hunt planning, strategy during the hunt, the beauty of the hills, the animals and everything. I can still see the smile on Travis' face while we were making the stalk, the emotions after the bull was down, the contentment once we got back to camp.........This is really a great time with the kids.....................Allen Taylor.............
