Coueshunter77 Report post Posted April 7, 2017 Looking to do more backpacking hunts for clues this year and I'm looking and getting a slumberjack tent and bag. Has anyone tried them and if so what do you think? What other products would you guys recommend without breaking the bank?
GreyFox Report post Posted April 7, 2017 We camped last year, it was GREAT. Look at campmor.com and campsaver.com Also, check out whiteblaze.net for used gear sales. I use a tarp tent and campmor bag. Weight is a big issue.
10Turkeys Report post Posted May 6, 2017 I use one. Number one they wont break the bank. The down side is as with all low cost bags is the temp rating. Also with the lower end tents is the person rating. If it's a zero degree bag you can figure if the temp hits 25-30 you will be freezing, and if the tent is rated for four, two will be crowded.
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted May 6, 2017 I have a 49.00 slumber bag 30 degree I use for August high country and it works great. December I step up to a Kelty 0 degree. Don't know about their tents.
metau Report post Posted May 8, 2017 If you get worried about the temp rating, just buy a liner. Much cheaper than shelling out for another bag or one of sufficient quality to keep you warm when it does get cold.
