AzDiamondHeat Report post Posted March 29, 2017 I have never sat in a blind but am likely to do it this year with my wife. For you guys that use them, do you typically leave them out or take them down each day? Any theft issues? Is it prudent to cable them to a tree or something? AzDiamondHeat Report post Posted March 29, 2017 Why not by water?
bigorange Report post Posted March 29, 2017 Why not by water?Popular areas for visitors...who might steal it or remove it if they're territorial and think they have the right to "their waterhole" or just mess with it. In addition to bears, I've had cattle trample one. Actually very little damage and popped right back up luckily.
Ed67 Report post Posted March 30, 2017 Practice shooting out of it also. You don't want your only shot at a trophy to be the first shot kneeling and in low light from the blind.
trphyhntr Report post Posted March 30, 2017 I would advise you to get a nice chair to sit in if you're going to be in it a lot
AzDiamondHeat Report post Posted March 30, 2017 Thanks guys. It's for my wife's cow hunt. We have it up in the backyard practicing the exact range that it will be set at on our spot. Excited to see her first elk. Crossbow none the less.
Sneaker Report post Posted March 30, 2017 Animals notice them many times when they are first put out, even if you brush them in, so from a game standpoint, it is good to leave them out at least a few days before you plan to hunt it. Get chairs that are comfy, easy to move in, and quiet ideally.
300RUM Report post Posted March 30, 2017 When I want a blind somewhere I tend to build one with supplies that are already there. It usually doesn't take to long. It looks very natural. You don't have to pack it in and out. I have never had a bear molest one. I have never had one stolen.

My buddy was in one last yr and a bear missed with it with him in it, bearly got out. In 22n, love blinds you can't fall out of them. Just don't point it at the sun, especially with the screen up. You don't have to pack it in and out. I have never had a bear molest one. I have never had one stolen. That's the way I've always done. On one of my mom's elk hunts we had cow elk literally stick their heads in and never actually spook. On my elk hunt two years ago I had a couple muley does eating off the front of the blind and never spooked.

Wildwoody, is he the one who had the game warden come in and scare the bear away. If so, I know the guy who had the blind directly across from him. It was a crazy story and your buddy was lucky he wasn't mulled by that bear if he is the one I'm thinking of. TJ
