ForkHorn Report post Posted March 22, 2017 Hey all I have a lab that's a little over a year old and he hikes around with me a lot. Now that the snakes are out I'm a little worried about taking him with me. Any suggestions for someone that snake trains dogs? I'm in the East Valley. Thanks
AZ_SAWBUCK Report post Posted March 22, 2017 I've snake broke a few heelers. Take a dead snake and throw it on the ground.......when the pup goes to sniff the snake.......scare the living crap out of the dog.........get after them as if they are doing something terrible......smack a stick on the ground right in front of them......they will learn that the smell and or noise of the rattle is a bad thing. Worked for me! Good Luck!
