Recommended Posts

Will be deer hunting south of Tucson, and in case we get lucky will need a game processor in the area. Any recommendations?

I'm not familiar with Tucson, what does WGP stand for? We're hunting near I10 and Hwy 83, how close is the processor to that area?

WGP stands for wild game processing. it is about 29 miles from 83 and I-10 to the Ruthroff exit heading North on I-10. You would exit Ruthroff and head East about 1 mile.

I would recommend Wild Game Processors to any one looking for a good honest deal.

They are fairly quick and have always provides me with some very well cut pieces on meat.

I have had several types of summer sausage and beef sticks made by them over the last 5 years, Deer, Elk and Javelina.

Keep in mind they don’t like to process d-boned meats, I would call ahead just to make sure. <_<

Good luck on your hunt, I hope to be bringing something to MGP to hang…..

Dont know about Dickmans.....

The Sausage shop does good work, But it can take up to 3 months to get it back.... :(

Not sure I understand what you mean by processing d-boned meats. Are you saying they don't like to process meat that comes into their shop already deboned, or they prefer not to process the meat boneless?

They do not like to process meat that has already been de-boned....

Last year I paid $165.00, that included 20 lbs summer sausage, 20 lbs Jalapeno summer sausage

and all the other steak cuts, roasts and some chops.

I've used a butcher down in Saint David. His name is Stacey Thompkinson (SP?). I don't have his number with me but will try to find for you. He also does great Taxi work.

THUMBS UP ON Mr. Thompkinson! I've used him for the last four or five years with three deer and an elk. And his taxi work is phenomenal. Just got back my bow bull mount from 06 and he looks amazing. I need to get some pics up. He also did my dad's 107 coues so i'll try to get a pic up of that one too. Great prices I might add. don't know if he wants his phone # posted all over the internet so if you are interested pm me. Nicest guy in the world too. Tell him what you need and he'll do it for yah. like Scout'm said, he lives in saint david so about an hour from sv and probably the same from hw. 83/ I 10 area. bryson
