apache12 Report post Posted March 14, 2017 I struggle to find a good place to shoot at 3-5 hundred yards. Seems like I'm always running into people And I only have 15's. For glass. Makes for a lot of walking to check target. Thought I would try a ladder at Ben Avery but hate to waste bullets if a ladder at 200 what really show any nodes

oz31p Report post Posted March 14, 2017 At 200 yards a ladder test may be difficult to interpret. Table Mesa east of I17 after you reach forest land There are several turn offs that dead end and leave you alone with a long streach of canyon to shoot into. Just don't show up at 10 am and expect to find a good spot. The time spent walking ensures you never heat up your barrel.
Zeke-BE Report post Posted March 14, 2017 Everybody says don't do it. I was at the range on some other loads but went ahead and did my ladder test at 200 yards. Everything shot within a 3" group. It was really hard to interpret what the bullets where doing. Stick with a longer range
lancetkenyon Report post Posted March 14, 2017 300 minimum for me too. 400 shows nodes much better.
apache12 Report post Posted March 15, 2017 Good stuff. Thanks. Think I'll head of table mesa or maybe up to Dugas turn off. Try to get out butt crack and avoid the wind up there
