They are out...

Recommended Posts

Makes me wish it was November through February again when you could start hiking around without a care of running into one of those things

No doubt!!! This one Tres posted is all coiled like one of the dirt clumps beside him.

As a guy who got a 1 fanged partial dose when I was youngster quail hunting I can say I don't ever want full dose venom! I had small scratch and small puncture due to my good vertical jump abilities back then but dang sure got sick That afternoon and had severe muscle cramping/spasms in calf to point of couldn't walk. Have worn snake guards since and been struck multiple time bird hunting. 😡

Yeah I thought it was cow shoot.

There is a reason I don't go quail hunting until mid to late November.

During the first deer hunt in late October I came within about a foot of being bit. I was Walking pretty quick to get to me glassing spot for the afternoon, and I hear rattling just bit to my right and luckily I jumped left, cause there was a big ol sucker reared up and ready. I don't like to think about what would have happened if I stepped in the wrong direction. A few large rocks to the head and he no longer posed a threat.

Coming out of unit 23 late one night......maybe 10:30.......wife is asleep after a long day scouting.........I slowly pull over....then start to back up......my wife wakes up, honey what is wrong.......nothing dear just checking something out!!!

I stop...pull forward then backward then forward then backward....every time with a slight lump in the bump.........honey...what are you doing.

Nothing dear, just taking care of a little business in the middle of the road!!!

Would have loved to seen the look on the drivers of those two cars you encountered!!!

On my back patio today.

That's a pretty healthy looking snake.

Just a common sense fyi to all on here DONT LET YOUR WIFE PUT A BIRD BLOCK IN YOUR YARD. Rats and mice also like bird seed and snakes like rats and mice. Every house I have taken snakes from have had BIRD blocks or neighbor does

That last pic gets my blood flowing. Hate to think of that being on my back porch when my toddler is out there playing

My son's friend in CA asked for a rattlesnake rattle. Since we were heading out to La Paz County, drove down a road I know is a hotspot for them...

We encountered 6 in about 2 miles of road.
