lancetkenyon Report post Posted March 7, 2017 OK, it is a year and a half early, and a year before I was going to get serious, but I could not pass up the deal. Sure is nice having a son-in-law as a mechanic at a dealership that can watch for a vehicle as soon as it comes in on a trade. Saved about $10-11k on it. Pretty much exactly what she wanted. Make, model, even color! 2008 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. 83K miles, rear locker, 80% 285/70r17 Toyo Open Country, 2" lift, auto. Can't wait to get some blood in the bed this year!
Hoss50 Report post Posted March 7, 2017 Is it really a truck if it doesn't have AZ pinstripe? Nice score. That truck will be plenty capable of getting deep in the woods.

IA Born Report post Posted March 7, 2017 Sometimes you just have to jump on the good deals when they happen. I was planning to sell my mom's truck after she passed away until I got in it. Its a 2002 Dodge Dakota quad cab sport 4x4 with (then) only 98,000 miles on it and the 4.7 v8. That's when it hit me that our daughter turns 16 in three years and its a perfect first vehicle for her. My wife agreed and we drove it back from Iowa after we cleaned out mom's house. Taylor's a lucky young woman, but I think her parents are, too!

Cell4soul Report post Posted March 8, 2017 Great trucks. I had a 2005 that to this day is the best truck I have ever owned. I have been considering getting another Tacoma. My stepson is turning 16 in a little over a year and that is eventually what he will drive. Here is a couple pics of the Tacoma I built. This one had the obvious mods plus a Ford 9" rear end and ARB lockers front and rear.
hoghntr Report post Posted March 8, 2017 Beware!!! I gave my daughter a car and it's only been in my driveway 1 time since and that was 1.5 years ago... Good luck brother I personally would have a written contract between kiddo and parent if I ever did such a thing again. Btw Taylor may have never heard the desert pinstriping on your vehicle but sure bet she hears it now!
