Bear Mountain

Recommended Posts

Was in their shop for the first time yesterday. I went there to check out Kryptek Camo as they recently became a dealer for it. Good guys. They had some nice rifles on hand. They are getting a shipment of H4350 later this week. They had a bunch of .22 ammo on hand. They had a decent selection of other powders.

I thought I would give a little shout out. I usually go to Sportsman's Warehouse as my first place to shop, but I think I will give the smaller independent shops first crack at my business moving forward. Any other good local small businesses out there ya'll like?

+1 plenty of shops use the Davidson's gun buying software. I don't care for their shop or service.

I've had great and terrible experiences. It can be a little Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde there. To paraphrase Forest Gump, Bear Mountain is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. Just expect it going in.

If it is firearms related +100 for Healy's. Fantastic customer service!

The problem is they think the have such a loyal following and they don't care who they lose. My family is all from that area of Mesa and chandler. We ALL used to shop there....now, not a single one of us do. This is the problem when you let family and friends work at your business and don't care to hold people accountable for poor service and appearance. It's lazy and pathetic.

Maybe they are trying to turn things around? Seems the owner should have these two threads pointed out to him and if he gives a hoot about his company he will clean house and try to right the wrongs of the past.

I will say this.. Owning a company sucks these days when you have to count on employees. It's really not worth the hassle, that's why I closed mine and will go solo if I ever start one up again.

I bought four rifles, one bow and all of my bow hardware there. I went I there to order a rifle that I just had to have about 3 years ago. It seemed like the person was trying harder to get me out the door rather than trying to find me a gun. Ï won't go back anymore. Just so my post isn't all negative, I will say that Howie over there doesn't have a bad attitude.

Bought a brand new bow from them a few years back and had a pretty positive experience with the customer service and they beat archery hq by almost $100 on the price.

Later when I sold the bow and took the sights off it I found that the guy who put it together had used screws that were too short and barely engaged the riser through the sight. When i took the screws out the top two threads of the aluminum came with them. Boogered them up to where they wouldnt take another scre so i had to retap the hole from the backside and sold it with long screws i stalled in the riser so the next guy wouldnt have any trouble with it.

In short, I had great service that was buggered by mechanical incompetence.
