PRDATR Report post Posted March 3, 2017 The short of it is I bought an Axis a few weeks ago from Cabelas and the front screw hole had grease and some fileings in it as though it wasn't fully threaded. I cleaned it out and blew some air into it and stuck a toothpick into it but it only goes in about 3/16th's. That seems like it may be too shallow as when I put the one piece Talley base and ring on I only get about 1/2 a turn or so once the base mates up to the receiver. It seems like the hole should be deeper. The rest of the holes are fine with nice sharp threads. I am waiting to hear back from them as I did an online repair ticket. PRDATR Report post Posted March 31, 2017 I contacted them on Monday and was told they are waiting on a replacement. I shot them another email today requesting a tracking number when they ship it so we will see how that goes.
