OTC Spring Bear

It seems like more people talk about the fall hunts is there a reason there isn't more talk about the spring hunts. Is it the lack of open units? I thought I might and try to find a bear this spring. I really no nothing about bear hunting other than bears in the pears but there isn't any pears come spring look for grassy meadows, or use calls? When do bears leave there winter dens I am guessing it will be early this year it has been pretty warm this winter.

 

any input would be great.

The reality is, spring rifle bear is terrible, they just do not move much until mid to late May. With that said, there are always a handful of guys that kill bears and when I say handful, one, two, maybe three. I always go in late April then wonder why I wasted my time.

Go shed hunting in a unit with otc bear. Maybe you will get lucky.

I just wish they would open up 31 for bear. we had 17 bears on camera last year.

Someday I will come across a spring bear Kidso, when I find that unicorn it is dying even if it is the size of a bath mat once all rugged out, haha.

For archery there isn't a hunt in 31. only the rifle hunt later in the year.

 

September 30th-December 31st. General Bear there isn't any Archery 31 season.

Their is, he probably never looked in the spring regs, just the main regs. It's the same as all the other spring rifle OTC hunts.
