dmoto Report post Posted February 20, 2017 Put in for javelina HAM for my first time and ended up pulling a tag. Headed down south with some buddies who have hunted this area for years. Hiked a ton on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Ran into a herd of 4 with two babies on Saturday afternoon hunting some pretty thick flats, immediately hit the J-13 call and they ended up doubling back. The larger of the 4 ended up turning broadside at 15 yards. Fired one shot and hit right in the shoulder. It turned and faced me with some grunts and teeth chatter. One more shot and it went down. Thanks again for the tips on ammo, worked like a charm. Great time for my first HAM hunt and I'll definitely be putting in again for next year.

hoghntr Report post Posted February 28, 2017 Pistol pigs are fun stuff! I did learn one year even with a 9mm hollow point right in one's forehead at maybe 5 yards when he was running straight at me since I was in his trail... Well I learned that even with a giant hole in head they can still knock you flat on your back with forward momentum. :] he got another in the head literally with barrel just behind his ear cuz thought he was eating me, didn't realize he was just crashing. I LOVE JAVELINA!!! Congrats
