Edge Report post Posted February 14, 2017 1956 2016 Only change is the 10round mag and the quick impromptu 303 cord sling. Ya know your gun has got some miles on it when you've worn out a good thick leather sling.

Very cool.Mike, that rifle has taken down 4 species of deer, and a couple antelope. One year back in the 90s, we both took elk with it in seperate hunts. Dad semi-retired it in '75 but after trying a Weatherby 7mm and a Rem 7600, only to go back to the ol Meatpole in the last years he hunted. It was handed down to me 15 years ago. Here's a shout out to pops, a WWII vet and my personal hero. He turns 90 in a couple weeks. He taught me how to hunt, appreciate nature and sit quiet.

The exit wound made it a lot easier to remove his skull cap cuz I had only packed in a pocket saw. Mike took in his wicked alien saw but it was so sharp it could take your limb off if you just looked at it wrong.

Red Sparky Report post Posted February 15, 2017 My uncle had one and I got a lot of range time with one. The one that got handed down to me, first my grandfathers and then my dad's when my grandfather got killed, is the Model 721 in .270 Winchester.
