More D Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Finally ordered Toyo R/T's in 35x13.5x20 for my truck. In my searches I keep coming across Firestone Destination MT's for $100 less per tire! I decided on the R/T for "less road noise" but $400+ dollars still in my pocket might help with that. Anyone have any experience with these tires?
Hoss50 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 I would take a Toyo over a Firestone every day of the week.
223VARMINTER Report post Posted February 11, 2017 I have the Toyo R/T's on my Ram 2500. Have about 16,000 miles on them so far and have been really happy with them. Very low road noise and just a slight drop in MPG's from the factory tires. Drove to PA and back (5000 miles) and they were great on the highway. They have been very good while pulling my toyhauler as well.
creed_az_88 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 No experience with toyos but I went from geolanders to Firestone destinations and the Firestones are better in every way. I'm close to 15,000 miles on them and they have very little wear. Lots and lots of dirt road miles.
ready2hunt Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Toyos are great and will get a lot of mileage but RTs and MTs are different. I would assume that with 35's you have a 2500?

Coues79 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 I had Toyo's on my 2009 GMC 2500HD and they didnt last. Wasn't impressed unfortunately. Everything I've read and heard lent to them being a great tire.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Back in the day my dad had firestone's on his old F250. Coming back from Roosevelt one blue and destroyed the bed. Firestone was found at fault and would replace the tire and fix the body damage. On the way to the shop the other side blue causing matching damage to the other side of the bed. I will never run firestone's again.
azpredator@work Report post Posted February 11, 2017 I currently run 35" Toyo mt on my ram 2500 and am not happy. Previous toyos have been good to me, but not this set. Currently at 14k miles on them and will have to replace before season this year. 1 is completely bald and I've rotated them every 3k miles. I don't have a heavy foot and have pulled a toyhauler less than 2k miles with them. I'm waiting to hear more reports about the r/t's. Probably my next tire. ready2hunt Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Yes. F250 Despite what MANY People will tell you rotate at 3-4000 and you'll be fine. MT need to be rotated at 3000 to actually achieve the longevity out of the rubber. If they are the "open country" they are an "E" rated 10 ply so it's just as good as any other just different design and lower tread depth. Be happy with your choice. You got a decent choice for an all around tire. I would chose toyos over firestone but I prefer MT myself.
Zeke-BE Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Go onto threads about towing trailers, camping trailers ext ext and you can find lots of thread about this. I've looked into it myself and Im going to get Toyos. About 90% good reviews Toyos and about 90% bad reviews for the Firestones.
Cell4soul Report post Posted February 12, 2017 Coopers. Great tires. Less than Toyos. I have the STT's on my truck. Toyos are a good tire, but having owned both Toyos and Coopers, I would say Coopers are every bit as good and less money. Not to mention they are made in America.
