Snapshot Report post Posted January 28, 2017 dang bob, I thought your wife was coming down to be with you. Sorry to hear. There's a guy or two one here that the same things happened (or similar) and they both turned out better for it. I won't tell they're business but maybe they'll come forward or pm you. Either way, glad your doin ok. No matter if your a huge lefty or not hahaha!! Your still a good guy. Add another one to that list. My ex lied, cheated, was financially wreckless to the point of being criminal, bankrupted me and treated me like a cash pinata. Dont know how I made it through that stuff without digging a hole for her, but I did. And 10 years after the divorce was finalized, I have a beautiful younger wife, a couple of gorgeous babies with the new wife and a career and financial level I honestly never thought I would see. And best of all, shes dead broke, lost her house and has nothing at all to her name. Sometimes karma drags its feet, but when it hits 'em it hits 'em hard! Bob: hang in there, stay strong and keep working and employ the wisdom and lessons youve acquired through the hard times. "Think like a man of action - act like a man of thought" Dang. I thought I was the only one that got screwed. Lol. My wife(ex) wasn't finacially wreckless, but when the recession hit the fan, she decided the grass wasn't green enough on my side of the fence. You always see a persons true character when faced with adversity. Kharma can be a fickle bitch.
billrquimby Report post Posted January 28, 2017 "That's correct after the economy has stabilized and found a new normal level based on it, but inflation does not happen over night it takes time. There will be an immediate influx of larger amounts of cash, which nets a near term benefit." ............ --------------------------------------- Mattys281 : That near-term benefit from an immediate influx of large amounts of cash in the marketplace is only brief, and can also be inflationary. The data Edge published shows inflation in the U.S. has caused the cost of living to outpace government-mandated minimum wage increases every 3.5 years over the 79 years covered. When I joined the workforce with my first hourly job in 1950 at age 14, the minimum wage had just been increased to $0.75 hour. The arguments pro and con for government intervention in the minimum wage then were the same as today. The economic law my Econ 101 professor cited all those years ago has been proven time after time, but is mostly ignored so Ill cite it again: Government-mandated minimum wages are inflationary and provide only temporary relief to entry-level/bottom-tier workers. mattys281 Report post Posted January 28, 2017 100% agree. Its a bad deal and real groin punch for everyone that either has or aspires to 'climb the ladder'. If I live to be 100, I'll still never understand how people feel entitled to demand things from someone that gives them a voluntarily held position.
