trophyseeker Report post Posted January 18, 2017 The equipment is sometimes covered under a homeowner's policy rather than your auto insurance, which would pay for the glass under comprehensive/vandalism coverage.
Vixen Report post Posted January 18, 2017 When thieves get caught, they should cut off a f@#%ing limb, instead of letting them get released from jail. The law does nothing about these things and insurance companies raise your rates or drop you and don't give a s@%
Cell4soul Report post Posted January 19, 2017 The equipment is sometimes covered under a homeowner's policy rather than your auto insurance, which would pay for the glass under comprehensive/vandalism coverage. This is an accurate statement. Claim your personal property on your homeowners policy and hopefully you have $0 deductible on your auto policy for glass. Depending on your homeowners deductible it may or may not be worth filing a claim as rates may increase. Same thing happened to me, but I didn't file a claim for my hunting gear because the loss was about $1,400 and my deductible was $1,000. It wasn't worth it to me for the possibility of increased rates. I hate thieves, sorry for your loss.
SpotNStalk Report post Posted January 19, 2017 I talked with my homeowners and will see what numbers they come back with to see if it's worth filing a claim . Auto insurance was all over it and had the glass company come out the same day . This all sucks but now it's time to start looking for a new pack and stuff to fill it with ! Str8Shot Report post Posted January 19, 2017 If you leave that much $$$$$ in your vehicle always a good idea to put $$$$ into a high end alarm ( one with remote monitoring).. Make sure it is loud and add a good Proxy and Glass break sensor ... I have chased off thieves twice one with a .357 pointing at them and once out in the field by letting a bullet fly about 600 yards blowing up a big chunk of rock about 8 feet from my truck...
208muley Report post Posted January 19, 2017 Str8shot, it sounds like you need to re sight your rifle! If you missed your target by 8 feet then you need more triggert time before making longer shots... Lmao
300RUM Report post Posted January 20, 2017 Some do get just what they deserve. One of my favorites happened around 9 years ago in Glendale. These 2 truly had 3 digit IQs, on the wrong side of the decimal point. If you are a pair of carjackers in west Glendale running from the police what kind of brilliant escape plan would you devise? Obviously, if you crash through the gate onto Luke AFB the police will terminate their pursuit. They did, however, overlook one minor detail. They were not traveling anywhere near fast enough to outrun the M-16s carried by USAF security police. You can only hope the guys the got you will have a similar experience sometime in the future.
